Larry Clark - - Exhibitions - Luhring Augustine

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

 Larry Clark

Luhring Augustine is pleased to announce an exhibition of new, unique photographs by Larry Clark, from January 20, 1996 to February 24, 1996.  This first exhibition of color photography by Clark will include approximately 100 12 x 18 inch C-prints.

Larry Clark has assembled this series from photographs of skateboarding youths taken over a three-year period.  With these recent works, Clark continues the exploration of adolescent subcultures that he began with the Tulsa and Teenage Lust series.  However, this new body of work signals a significant change in Clark's treatment of his subject.  Unlike the black and white stillness that dominates much of Clark's previous work, these photographs are full of teenagers captured in raw color snapshots.

Larry Clark has become a significant figure in contemporary art and film.  His work is included in important museum collections in the United States, Europe and Asia.  Clark's first feature film, Kids, released in 1995, continues to stimulate cultural debate around the world.
