Ragnar Kjartansson | Sunday Without Love - Kunsthalle Recklinghausen, Germany - Highlights - Luhring Augustine

Luhring Augustine is pleased to announce Sunday Without Love, Ragnar Kjartansson's forthcoming solo exhibition at Kunsthalle Recklinghausen, will open on May 2, 2026. 

In this exhibition, Kjartansson will present video installations including the artist's newest work, Sunday Without Love (2025), A Boy and a Girl and a Bush and a Bird (2025), No Tomorrow (2022), and other important video works, alongside new paintings. The works on view offer a concentrated overview of Kjartansson’s work characterized by three central themes: music, feminism, and art history. This exhibition is presented in partnership with The Ruhrfestspiele Recklinghausen, one of the oldest theater festivals in Europe. Kjartansson’s show in Recklinghausen is the first institutional collaboration between Kunsthalle, Ruhrfestspiele, and Kumu Tallinn, who exhibited the artist's work in 2025.
