Luhring Augustine is pleased to present a solo exhibition by the Italian artist Michelangelo Pistoletto at the 27th annual Art Show. A leading figure of the Arte Povera movement, Pistoletto merges art and life through performance art, sculptural installation and his iconic mirror paintings. Comprised of photo-silkscreened images on mirror-polished stainless steel, these signature works were developed in 1962 and allow for a dynamic exchange between art and the viewer. This presentation consists of three mirror paintings, including the monumental new work Cordoni which was created specifically for the fair. All three works allude to questions of access, order, and systematization.
