Ragnar Kjartansson | A Boy and a Girl and a Bush and a Bird

Luhring Augustine is pleased to announce A Boy and a Girl and a Bush and a Bird, Ragnar Kjartansson’s first solo exhibition in Estonia, will open at the Kumu Art Museum on May 16, 2025.

Consisting of five major video works from 2004–2025 and a set of five new, large-scale paintings, the exhibition provides insight into Kjartansson's work, which has been influenced by pop music, recent and classic art history and, in a less direct way, by political upheavals. On May 17 the museum will host a series of opening events, including an artist's talk. Also in connection with the exhibition, the 2nd Kumu Courtyard Festival will be held on June 7. Kumu’s courtyard will be filled with creatives related to Iceland. There will be workshops and exhibition tours inspired by Iceland and the Nordic region, live music performances, and Nordic-inspired culinary delights.
